A soundwalk, is, as the name implies, a walk destined to help you listen to and reflect on the soundscapes in which you are embedded. We will guide you through a variety of urban soundscapes, pointing out some of the urban planning and design strategies that have shaped them as well as sharing some of the research that could contribute to making them respond even better to the needs and expectations of their users. We stop at approximately 10 points along our walking tour, each with its unique characteristics.

Our soundwalks are currently offered in 3 cities: Montreal, Amsterdam, and Boston. If you are in one of these cities and would like to join us for a soundwalk, please contact our research team (contact@sounds-in-the-city.org). The walks are from 2 to 3 hours, but can be given in shorter versions if necessary. We require a minimum of 5 participants to initiate a walk, and they can be take place April through November. The cost is $20/person, which goes directly to student researchers to support their projects. All walks start and finish at points easily accessible via walking and public transportation.
